Africa’s Future Pitch Contest

CAPSULE

Vision: To become the information infrastructure for SMEs’ funding decisions.
Mission: Enable financial institutions and investors to make SMEs funding decisions faster, conveniently and cost-effectively.
Brief Company Profile: We play the Technology & Business Intermediator (TBI) role of reducing the opacity, high transaction cost and risk associated with lending to SMEs by digitizing enterprise operations and the funding decision process.
We help prepare MSMEs for financial access by cost-effectively addressing major hindrances to accessing funding to MSMEs, including lack of credit history documentation, absence of financial statements and projections, and limited use of technology for documentation. Our ERP solutions and credit assessment help to reduce cost and lending risk. We then move to facilitate funding for SMEs and process and monitor the loan during asset liquidation in the case of default.

SUACODE.AI

SuaCode.ai is an EdTech AI startup that is democratizing science and technology education across Africa using smartphones and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our SuaCode mobile app enables young Africans to learn to code on their phones with our AI teaching assistant, Kwame. Our Kwame AI web app enables African high school students to ask curriculum-based Science questions and get instant answers from Kwame, relevant diagrams and related exam questions.

Through SuaCode.ai, we are addressing 2 key Sustainable Development Goals: SDG Goal 4: Quality Education and SDG Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. SuaCode is enabling young people across Africa who don’t have access to computers to learn a crucial 21st-century skill — coding — using only smartphones. SuaCode will go a long way to bring coding skills within arms reach of people across Africa, literally into their palms. With these skills, they would be able to obtain IT-related jobs, and eventually, we will reduce Africa’s youth unemployment rate.
